Crashing and Burning

I have had a very unproductive 2 days! Feel as though I am being swallowed alive by work and home and am choosing not to exercise or eat well. I am choosing, however to drink actual martinis during the week. Yikes!!!
I plan to change all of this today. Hopefully, my Mommytime buddy and I will be able to meet up tonight to exercise. Maybe for more than 30 min. to make up for my sluggishness!!
As soon as Parent-Teacher conferences are over, I know this will be easier.

Hello! This is my first post - and I hope it's ok for me to be here. All of my kids are either furry and have 4 legs or scaly and have tails. If it's any consolation, I still have a crazy busy life that often drives me to drink. I just got done exercising!!! Yeah, I can't believe it either. This is the first day this week I did it - even though I'd intended to do it every day. I did a great 26 minutes of cardio (I spend the time reading something - and the length of time I can tolerate a cardio machine is directly proportional to how long my reading material lasts). Then I did my nemesis (lunges), and a couple more leg exercises. You're both lucky that you liver near to each other and can encourage (or guilt) each other into exercise. Hopefully this blog will do the same for me :)

Now I just have to hope that I don't cave to the cookies at home as I've done the past few days. Stupid cookies. I wish someone would stop baking them and leaving them all over the house for me to munch on.

I feel your pain, Joshenry. I had three days just like that. Just know this: we'll keep each other motivated, and things will get easier. Let's do something on Saturday.

And welcome MIQuilter! So glad to have you join us. I exercised too!!! It felt so good. The renovation of the jogger was a whole-family project, with Son pumping tires, Daughter carrying tools and cleaning rags around, and me doing all the heavy lifting (not to mention driving to buy the silly tire pump in the first place). But, then we actually all went running, including Dog! It took me 35 minutes to go a little over 2 miles, which is a truly horrific pace--but what with the necessary stops to put on little tiny mittens, scoop up after the dog, tuck the blanket around 4 little knees, take off the jogger cover, let the dog pee, put back on the jogger cover, readjust the dog's leash, put back on Daughter's hat, take off the jogger cover, put on little mittens, retie my own shoes, and put back on the jogger cover, the pace was understandable. I figure if I can cut down on the necessary stops with some strategic preparation, then even though walking a dog and pushing 60 lbs of kidlets is hardly likely to result in 8 minute miles, it certainly counts as exercise! Besides, the momentum of that thing makes me seriously RUN down hills, so it even gives me interval training...

I feel so good that I just took a long hot shower (kids asleep early), and I even feel motivated to do something again tomorrow. What a nice change from the last few days, when I just couldn't get myself motivated.
