This is the perfect time of year to play "I Spy" in the garden. Tiny little shoots bearing such great promise are everywhere -- if only you're willing to get down very close to the earth to find them out. (Click on photos to enlarge for details -- it's worth it, I promise.)
Tulip spears, red-tipped and strong enough to pierce a fallen leaf ...
the rounded glossy green of daffodils ...
sedum, nestling like miniature but extravagant cabbage amongst the remains of last year's stems and last week's snow...
... all fulfilling the promise of Spring.

Oh wow, I love your interpretation of the theme!! Gorgeous!
Great shots! I love this week's theme. It has been fun hopping around. I'm glad I stopped by. Happy Hunting!
First time I see a tulip shoot! The weather's too hot for tulips to bloom in Singapore. Sedum is a lovely plant.
Beautiful shots.
Awesome photos!!!!
Mine is shared....I have two hidden things in two photos...drop by and see if you can find 'em, if you haven't tried yet!! happy weekend....
there is nothing growing that brings me more of a thrill than tiny sprouts of something I planted SO FUN
Great interpretation of the theme. I posted some plants starting to poke out of the ground just this week. Didn't think about using them for my I spy pic though! Mine is something seen in my reflection ball in my garden.
Ohhh,I would SO love to see something green..... we still have six feet of snow on the ground....and it's snowing now. 'Snow' has become our favourite four letter word!
I love it, spring is upon us
I love the top photo!
This is just lovely. So filled with hope. I love spring!
That is very cool! I am inspired!
Thanks, fellow photo hunters, for coming by and commenting. I'm enjoying yours too!
Mrs F with 4 I sympathize so much. We've had a snow-thaw-snow-thaw kind of winter here, but it's been freezing for so long that I'm so ready for spring!
Cocoa, Kelly, and Retromodgirl: Thanks!
The same thing is happening in my garden! My daughter and I planted hundreds of bulbs in the fall...soon we'll see the fruits of our labor.
Great pictures...
Great series of shots. Lovely.
Have a great week!
You have a great camera and an even greater eye for detail.
Wow - those photos are so gorgeous and sooo hopeful - come on spring!
Foolery, thank you for saying that. In fact, the camera is pretty crummy. But I just discovered that if you set it on that little logo of a tulip, then it self adjusts to take really close up pictures of small things. Like flowers. Huh. Who knew? I'm in the market for a real SLR camera now...can't wait to be able to take shots of the kids in motion that are actually in focus. A revelation!
DMD, I'm right there with you, ready for spring!
