I could call this is a photo of twisty embroidery on a little-girl's shirt, but the twists here are so much more fun that that. First of all, today is her birthday. And, in the twist of fate that is the weather in Michigan, it was over 70 degrees yesterday, while today's HIGH is supposed to be in the low 40s. And it's supposed to rain. Or snow. So much for a cook-out...
But yesterday's cake making was tremendously fun. Especially the clean up. Because on a 70 degree day, when mama has just turned a chocolate cake rabbit out of a large pan, she is likely to be so cheerful (what with the weather and the fact that this cake does not seem to be repeating her recent cake disaster) that she will let you sit outside on a bench with your brother to scrape every last morsel of chocolate cake crumb out of that pan. If you can.
And if you can't, well, you sure can give it a good try.
And even though it's a little twisted to call it cake when you have to pry it off the bottom of the pan with your fingernails, it sure is delicious.
Happy Birthday, my darling two-year-old daughter! May your life be filled always with as much joy as you have had in the simple act of licking the pan clean. I love you.

The twisted embroidery on her sleeves would have been good enough for the theme this week, but story behind these scenes makes it even better!
Heh heh heh...great choice for today's theme! :) I love it. We've had those sort of chocolate faces at our house many times. What fun. I love the chocolate ring around the bath tub after they are bathed.

I was born in Muskegon Michigan!! We went back last March for the first time in 50 years. Snow everywhere!! The little ones are adorable and twisted or not, they are truly enjoying the cake. Great Photo Hunt photo. Mine's up too.

Love the pictures! Kids love it when their mommy lets them do something that is normally not allowed. We played in mud puddles for about an hour yesterday, and she looked a lot like your kids did in these pictures.
