When Life Hands You Lemons...

Once upon a time, there was a giraffe who had an unfortunate accident with a ferocious wild beast who chewed off her a portion of her leg.

Because she could not stand alone, she was not allowed to play Zoo Train with all her other animal friends.

Then one day, a benevolent veterinarian plastic surgeon giraffe-loving woman decided something must be done to restore the giraffe to her former status. A splint of some sort seemed like a simple enough solution.

A splint, however, did not seem likely to be "cool" enough for the other animals, who were inclined to think that the giraffe really was too gimpy even to play Zoo Train. This was unfortunate, since the giraffe was the only one tall enough to see out of the Zoo Train cars and thus warn everyone else about oncoming dangers. But you know how animal cliques can be. Once they close their ranks, it's hard to penetrate.

So the giraffe and the giraffe-loving woman came up with an excellent strategy. Deny the splint. Bill it as a peg-leg instead.

Once the other animals saw how incredibly cool Lady Long-Neck Pirate looked, they all wanted to be part of the pirate posse.

Eye patches were easy. Pirate Names took some serious consideration. Finally the full crew was assembled. Sir Silverback Pirate, Pirate Long-Trunk, Lady Pirate Stripe, and Captain Roar were ready to set sail.

Of course the lion was captain.

Even though the whole venture had been Lady Long-Neck Pirate's idea, she was was not that inclined to disagree with him. She preferred to keep the rest of her legs intact.

The End

That zebra pirate has quite an attitude.

You're just lucky Son didn't insist on gold pirate hoop earrings.

Those are the cutest little eye patches ever! I was getting all sad for the poor giraffe there for a moment. So glad it ended well, hehe. Hilarious post :)

So glad Maddie liked it, PB&J.

THAT family and Lisa's family are of course welcome to come over and play anytime. We can always make more eye patches. You might have to bring your own swords, though. :)

Foolery -- you are so right. I don't know HOW I would have pierced all those minute ears!

HAHA! Awesome! If they want to swing by Fury's Lego Nighclub, they're all on the list. Pirates are VIP in Fury's world.

BusyDad, They'd be honored. Sir John Pirate Badguy Racecar would no doubt like to come too. He has the full regalia, assuming a collarless pirate suit won't be rejected at the door.
